Beth Garrett Freelance Writer
Beth Garrett has both edited and written for AllAroundTheGlobe.com, bringing a fresh
and vibrant outlook to the travel industry. During her time with the
AllAroundTheGlobe.com team in August of 2001, she has written over two hundred
articles focusing on everything from cruise vacations and five-star hotels to popular
tourist attractions and the world's most celebrated cities. Her home base in South Florida
places her smack dab in the middle of one of the most frequently visited vacation
destinations in the United States.
Calling South Florida Home
Calling Delray Beach, Florida her home since 1997, Beth has traveled the state
extensively enjoying sunny skies, pristine beaches and cobalt blue waters. Delray Beach,
located just to the north of Boca Raton,
is a quaint seaside town removed from the hustle
and bustle of less intimate cities. Freelance writing has allowed Beth to travel to many of
the Florida destinations the she writes about. Key West,
located at the bottom of the
Florida Keys, is by far her favorite Florida destination and she makes every effort to get
down there at least six times a year. The colorful characters on Duval Street, nightly
shows at Sunset Pier and Hemmingway's beautiful six-toed cats all merge together to
create one of the most unique tropical towns in the country. Beth has also written
extensively on infamous South Beach.
Less than an hour drive from Delray, SoBe, as the
locals lovingly refer to it, is considered one of the hippest and hottest cities in the world.
People watching from one of the numerous cafes along Ocean Drive is a wonderful way
to pass a lazy afternoon. Museums are abundant for art lovers. Beth frequently visits the
Art Deco Museum, which pays homage to Miami Beach's decades-long love affair with
the Art Deco movement. Beth often makes day trips to
Fort Lauderdale enjoying the
savory restaurants and quaint shops on Las Olas. Central Florida, particularly
Orlando
with all of the amusement parks, is another favorite stopping point. The West Coast of
Florida boasts crystal clear waters. Tampa Bay,
just a three-hour drive from Delray,
offers all sorts of fun-filled vacation activities. During football season Beth heads over to
the left coast to cheer for the Buccaneers.
Beth's Education
In December of 2002, Beth received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Florida
Atlantic University in Boca Raton. Graduating Cum Laude, Beth managed to maintain
an exceptional GPA while working full-time. Looking towards the future she hopes to
obtain a Master of Arts degree while continuing to work for various publications. Beth
has long had a passion for writing beginning in the eighth grade when she wrote her first
poem. At Midlothian High School, outside of Richmond, Virginia, Beth was an editor
and contributor for her school's creative writing magazine, The Right Side of the Brain.
She was also a member of her school's newspaper and yearbook staffs. With the ability
to work under pressure and a keen eye for detail, Beth looks forward to a long future
spent writing.
